Mode of transportation in DC.
The saying, “when it rains, it pours” is true, but have you noticed that the opposite is also true? When all the planets are aligned and everything just falls into place, it’s like the gods are all smiling down upon you. Well that’s exactly how our trip to DC was. Everywhere we went everyone was extremely helpful, extremely friendly, and best of all, we kept finding parking spaces right in front of wherever we wanted to go. Now if that wasn’t lucky enough, the parking spaces we found were free. (Doesn’t take much to make me happy!)
Nice little Indian Restaurant in Georgetown.
We made it just in time for the last showing we wanted to see at the IMAX theater and got the best seats in the house. We found a charming Indian restaurant in Georgetown and everything we tried on the menu was delicious and cooked to perfection. The weather could have not been more beautiful with blue skies and temperatures in the low 70s during the day and mid 50s at night.
Rob’s tombstone.
We visited my brother-in-law’s gravesite at Arlington National Cemetary and met military officers from 32 different countries all traveling together at the Iwo Jima memorial. The sunsets each evening on the Mall were gorgeous and it was just a wonderful time for Patrick and I to relax.
Washington Monument on a beautiful evening.
Lincoln Memorial, my favorite monument in DC.
Maya Muses: Okay nothing is perfect in this world. We were just a tad early for the Cherry Blossoms to be in full bloom. Another five to seven days and it would have been magnificent, but would the planets have still been so perfectly aligned?!

I hate to rain on your parade, but the Cherry Blossom Festival is really something to see. Too bad you just missed it!

I’m beginning to think the same thing! My sister called and said she was going and we should meet her there….it was tempting, but, oh well….

I loved those 3 days in DC. The weather was perfect and it was so romantic to be with my wife in such a beautiful city….. Well !!! We have to go back and spend more time. I was so busy with my restaurant that I never got any chance to travel much for the last 30 years. What’s a pity.
America is so beautiful and our next project is the National Parks…Maybe next year!
