I was reading a story about a couple that was planning on getting married this weekend and the man was going to officially propose to his fiancé by taking her out to a place called Proposal Rock in Nesdowin Beach, Oregon. Apparently while the couple was making their way to the Rock a “sneaker wave” suddenly came ashore and swept the “young bride to be” out into the ocean!
Scott Napper watched helplessly as Leafil Alforque from the Philippines, the young woman he loved, quickly disappeared. Because of bad weather conditions, the Coast Guard, marine deputies, and firefighters were unable to rescue the young woman.
When I heard this horribly sad story, it brought back memories of another terrible story that a friend of mine told me had actually happened to one of his friends. Jean-Pierre, my boyfriend at the time was going to take me to Istanbul,
Turkey for a nice little getaway, when this friend of mine told me to be careful while we were there.
According to him, two years before, his friend had just gotten married, and he and his bride were going to Istanbul for their honeymoon. The first day that they were there they decided to go visit the Grand Bazaar and they were looking at the shops and displays of goods. He was busy looking at leather goods, while she was at a nearby stall looking at other things, and a few minutes later he turned to tell her something, but she wasn’t there. He went over to where she had been, but he couldn’t find her.
He started searching for her and became frightened when she was nowhere to be seen. He began calling for her and became frantic when she didn’t answer. He stayed in the vicinity so as not to get lost and asked people to help him, but no one had seen his wife.
The police were called, but still they couldn’t find her. They looked for hours and he contacted the French Embassy, but even with their help she was never found! After staying there for days looking for his new wife, he eventually returned to France alone.
When my friend told me this story, I couldn’t believe it! I mean you leave to go on your honeymoon with the person you love and you come back home alone! They assumed that she had been kidnapped into the White Slave Market.
Maya Muses: Needless to say that after I heard that, I was not very sure about our trip to Istanbul a few weeks later! I told Jean-Pierre to keep an eye on me at all times, but I also told him that since I was a brunette, and not a blonde, I didn’t have to worry as much! I’m happy to say we ended up having a wonderful time and went to other cities and visited The Princes’ Islands. It was very exotic, the food was great and so were the people; they were very friendly, but I have to admit, however, I was glad to be back in Paris!
Unfortunately for the other two couples their tales ended tragically.

Hmm…
Destiny,Karma or what?
Or being at the wrong place at the wrong time?
I had a friend who was a yoga and meditation teacher, just to name something of what she did…
She was very good and very popular…
She went to the Amazon jungles and met a “shaman” there that she fell in love with…
She came home, but decided to go back again,
I met her just a couple of days before she left…
She was so exited…But I sensed that things would not be as she hoped for…I had a uneasy feeling…
She went and disappeared in the jungle!
We knew that she arrived there, she wrote a letter, then we did not hear anything more from her..
They wrote about it in the papers…
The “shaman” she met,was in fact,if I remember correctly,from Germany…
When people asked him about her,he said she had been there, but that she left and he had no idea where she was…
We never found out what happened to her…

I hope you get to go to Oslo! I have great memories with my mom in Oslo. The countryside is so beautiful and the people are great, but I think I say that about people everywhere! LOL! It’s true though!

When you felt that uneasy feeling, did you talk to her about it? Especially since she was into meditation and yoga and things….don’t you think she might have listened to you? Then again, I believe we have a moment to arrive on this Earth and a moment to depart which we can’t escape; some would call it destiny.
It reminds me of the story, Rendez-vous à Samarkande, have you heard it?
