I love this verse, from one of the poems by Longfellow, probably because throughout my travels around the world I have made lasting friendships with so many people from other countries.
“….Not chance of birth or place has made us friends,
Being oftentimes of different tongues and nations.
But the endeavor for the self-same end,
With the same hopes and fears and aspirations…..”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Maya Muses: Another reason for loving these lines is, as I was starting out on my journey, one of my best friends gave me this verse on the night before my departure, and I’ve kept that piece of paper with me for close to 40 years!

Same here!
Good to see you here Tina!I’ve missed you!
Wow;Lynn, how does that paper look like after 40 years?
To become true friends is a wonderful, magical thing…
Sometimes I think it is more magical then when you find your “soulmate”….
Tina is a close friend of mine….We have only known each other for little over 1 year…
But it feels like much longer….
We have been through a lot already together, good and not so good things…It is amazing….
Age doesn’t matter in true friendship;not where you come from either;distance has nothing to do with it;and not the language….
What is it then?I can’t explain,it is just there…
Sometimes when you meet someone, you just know that this person are going to play a big role in your life…You can’t explain it,you just feel it in your heart!
I felt this with Tina,and others….
Sometimes a person touch my heart even before we met or spoken to each other…I know that we will meet, and that we will get to know each other….
I have experienced this many times…
Have you ever had this feeling when you meet someone you know you never met before and just feel that you know him/her very well?
You think:”Finally we meet again, where have you been?”
I experience this frequently….Amazing….
I feel this with you Lynn….
Wonder where we have known each other before?
My quote?
Have no quotes….Gosh,my mind just went blank!Empty like a clear blue sky….Interesting!

I feel that too, Mia! I think we must have known one another in a past life perhaps! We have so many ideas in common….sometimes you say exactly what I’m thinking and vice-versa.
By the way, that paper has turned yellow, but it’s still in pretty good shape!
Hey! That’s a good quote! “My mind just went empty like a clear blue sky.”
I agree! Good to see you Tina!

“Sisters in Spirit” or ” Soul Sisters”….
This Sisterhood I think is even stronger than “real”
sisters or brothers too for that matter!
Love you “guys”….

As the saying goes, “You can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family.” Lol.

Amen to that….
But you sure learn a lot from your family…
And I believe we do choose them, but the thing is we have forgotten why?

Precisely! We do choose our family before coming to this Earth (school) so they can help us to learn and progress, and vice-versa. We forget because if we did remember, many of us would say, “No way! I’m not going through that!” Lol.
