A public memorial service will be held today at 10 a.m. EST for little Caylee Marie Anthony at the First Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida and will be broadcast live on both television and the internet. It’s a time for Caylee’s family and friends to say good-bye to this child who seemed so bright, so full of spunk, and so full of life, but it’s also a time for the public who fell in love with her to say their good-byes as well!
Maya Muses: Personally I feel closure will not come for everyone until after the court case is completed and the person responsible for her death has been sentenced. Then people will be able to say their final farewell to this beautiful little girl.
Update: A beautiful service was held for Caylee Marie Anthony today. The music was beautiful, the tributes that George and Cindy Anthony, Caylee’s grandparents, gave for their darling little granddaughter were heartfelt and touching, as were the sermons. It was as it should have been, a memorial for the little girl.
The music selected for today’s service was beautiful. Particularly moving was “Caylee’s Song” performed by Jon Whynock, but I also loved Katie Cox’s mellow voice when she sang “Child of Mine” and “If I Had Only Known”.
The only strangeness in the entire service was Lee Anthony’s reference to his love and devotion to “CMA”, which left mourners unsure if he was talking about his sister Casey Marie Anthony, or his niece Caylee Marie Anthony.

I know. I just hope that only people who want to pay their last respects to Caylee will show up, and those who don’t, won’t use this moment in the spotlight to further their own causes!
