If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

To Be In The Moment

May 29th, 2008 · 7 Comments

A special moment on the Pont des Arts.

I don’t always see Paris in the early morning at sunrise, but the times that I have were usually when I was on my way home from a party that lasted until dawn.

What I love about Paris is that it’s made up of many special moments. Moments where you feel like part of a tableau vivant, or just caught up in a wonderful, fully aware, moment where you realize that you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world, but right where you are.

It could be a place where the beauty overwhelms you, or a scene unfolding before your eyes and you feel almost like an intruder; perhaps watching a couple in love.  Or it might be a passing glance with a stranger that makes your heart skip a beat.

No, Paris doesn’t always have to be running from one place to another, visiting one thing after another, shopping, buying, etc,…. Sometimes it’s nice to just be in the moment.

that I think is what it is all about to be in the moment!

Those moments I collect, like wild strawberries on a straw….And they usually are very simple things…

    Like yesterday,late afternoon:

    Out for a walk in the woods…passing a pond…
Frogs singing their hearts out…nothing more…

Or sitting chatting with friends on a café,watching life pass by…

Yeah, those are the best times, when you’re aware that you’re happy to just be in the moment.

I spent part of the morning laughing with my mom on the phone. It’s a part of my day that I look forward to.

    Last night were out strolling…
Took the time to stop and have a chat with a shop owner who was watering the pavement outside his shop…
We talked about life etcetera…A moment in time…
To be present in the here and now!

Mia, that’s exactly it! “To be present in the here and now!” We spend so much time dwelling upon the past or wishing for the future without appreciating the here and now. Besides, that’s all we really have, isn’t it?

Yeah….Why is it so hard to realize that?
