It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

This Is Not Just Your Local Commuter Train! (Well, Acutally It Is!)

Not everyone can afford to ride the Orient Express, but just about anyone can hop on the local commuter train that quickly transports you to another time and place.

This “Château de Versailles” train is on line C of the RER and replicates 7 rooms of the famous palace including the illustrious Hall of Mirrors.  Of course!

So, why not read a book while you’re in Louis XVI’s library?!

Or sit in the garden for awhile?

It sure beats riding a subway train in New York City….

…..and I’m sure that more than one commuter has sat in one of these compartments imagining just for a moment that they were King Louis XVI or Marie-Antoinette relaxing in their château rather than making their daily commute to work!

Beautiful and only in Paris, because somehow I can’t imagine a subway train in New York City looking like this!

Or (more importantly) staying like this!!!

I know and that’s what I love about Paris!!!

It brings a whole new dimension to commuting. Like you said, I think if I was reading a novel in the library wagon, I would keep looking up at my surroundings pretending I was in my library at the palace rather than on my way to work. Then again, what a let down when I’d get off at my stop and reality would set in. LOL!

    I couldn’t agree more, Pam!

The RER trains that I have taken to Versailles in the past never looked this good –this must be a new addition. What a great idea!

I think you and I must have ridden the same trains, Harriet, but I can sure get use to this new one!

Love this train, but I’m wondering what you’re up to these days…..

Hi Harriet, I just got back from Pittsburgh today where I spent a month with my whole family celebrating my mom’s 90th birthday!!! I thought I would have plenty of time to write, but I just didn’t have time to post anything! Hope you’re well!!!
