It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

There’s More To Us Than Meets The Eye

August 1st, 2008 · 13 Comments

PlantsMia and I have been discussing a number of New Age concepts on my blog lately and Dr. Masaru Emoto just happened to come up in our comments.  Now if comments were any indication of who was reading my blog, I would assume that I have only two readers: Mia from Sweden and Tina from Spain!

Water crystal from thoughts of Love and AppreciationBut!  As any blogger knows, you can get a daily report (thanks to your awstats) on who comes to your blog, what countries are these readers coming from, how they found your blog, etc.  So I know I have a readership of several thousand people in over thirty countries!  (Not too bad having started this blog just a little over three months ago!)

Water crystal after PrayerSo for those of you who don’t comment on my blog, but faithfully read my posts, I thought it would be interesting to go more in depth on Dr. Emoto’s experiments with water.  If you haven’t seen the film, What the Bleep!? – Down the Rabbit Hole nor read the book, The Secret, or haven’t seen the photographs that Dr. Emoto has taken of water crystals in his book, The Hidden Messages in Water, then read on!

The whole concept (which theologians having been saying for centuries, and scientists are finally coming to the same conclusion) that the Universe is nothing more than energy and that our thoughts are one of the most powerful sources of energy, is nothing new.  What’s new is finally getting scientific proof of this idea.

Greenhouse PlantsOver forty years ago people were fascinated by research that was done in New York (the Backster Effect) and later in laboratories in California using sensory devices on plants showing that plants have a neural network and an understanding and knowledge beyond what we had previously thought.  One experiment that was done was, Person A would go into a greenhouse (where all the plants had sensory devices attached to them) and would proceed to caress the plants and tell them how beautiful they were.  He would water them lovingly and play soft music for them.  He would then go out of the room and after a period of time Person B would come in, turn on loud music, tell them how ugly they were, scream at them, and before leaving, he would take one plant, smash it to the floor, and walk out.

Water crystal after thoughts of, you make me sick….I want to kill you.The next day Person A would walk into the greenhouse, wouldn’t do or say anything except have loving thoughts for them and walk between the rows of plants.  The plants all remained calm.  After he would leave, Person B would walk in; again he wouldn’t do or say anything except think about smashing one of them and walk between the plants.  However, from the moment that Person B came into the greenhouse, all the plants were jittery and nervous, the lines going off the charts like on a polygraph machine!  Over and over the results were the same; the plants immediately recognized the difference between Person(s) A and Person(s) B taking part in the experiment.  A good book to read for those who find this subject interesting is, The Secret Life of Plants.

Water crystal with thoughts of Angel Water crystal with thoughts of DevilDr. Emoto has done a similar thing with water crystals.  By taking a drop of water, freezing it and photographing it with different thoughts in mind, the water’s reaction to the energy of positive thoughts versus negative ones are astounding.  (See for yourself by placing your mouse over each photo of a crystal.)

Maya Muses:  There is so much more to this Universe we live in than meets the eye.  It goes back to the idea if no one would look at the Moon would the Moon still be there or would it cease to exist?  Afterall, what we are experiencing is an illusion that we’ve brought on by our thoughts.  Consequently, we truly are creating our own reality by what and how we think and, more importantly, how we feel!

Yeah…Life is amazing, and every day is new and fresh….
I have tested a lot of these “things” and sometimes it is like living in a fairytale or a dream….Magical, mystical and so fascinating…

Findhorn, in Scotland; was my first experience of how our thoughts can “communicate” with plants and flowers and the” nature spirits”…

I have never been there myself, but read books and met people who have been there…

Actually I knew this already…I always talk with my plants…
I have as they say “green fingers”….

Funny things happen when you start living with an open mind and heart….

When you start experiment with the effect your thoughts and feelings have on your world….

    I thought:”Why not try it,what have I to loose?Another illusion?

So…yes,I do know that it is true,we do create our own reality….

A hard pill to swallow sometimes….
Because who to blame, when our “reality” are not that great!?Ourselves?
Well,it is easy, and yet so hard to grasp that we have the responsibility of our own lives, that we do have a free will to choose how we will see our “reality”…
And then again…there is so much more….

As one of Wayne Dyers books says…”You see it when you believe it!”….

By the way…great you have so many reading your Blog!
Maybe I should do one myself?
    But this is fun too….

That reminds me of another quote of Wayne Dyer, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

I see we are very much in tune to each other, but as you say, there is so much more….. I believe that this Earth is a school and we come here to learn and to love, and to advance spiritually.

It’s like going off to a university where we choose the classes we take; before coming on this journey to Earth, we choose certain lessons we must learn and in that sense I feel there are certain things in this life that are predestined, that we can’t escape. How we choose to deal with those major issues is where free will comes in.

So there’s a combination of destiny and free will that plays a role in each of our lives. (I’ve done too many natal, progressive, and karmic astrology charts for me to think otherwise!)

    I agree…
I’ve done too many “lessons” in life to know that this is true….
When I took the first conscious step on my inward journey,I never realized I should find so much inside myself….
But I knew this was a journey I had to travel,in this lifetime….
And by finding my own “hidden” wisdom and trusting it…I also started to see the world in a different way…

So….why did we start to discuss these things here?
Destiny at work… and our free will to make something more out of it?
    See you soon I hope….

Mia, first let me say, I think you should do a blog! You have so many interesting things to talk about and I’m sure you meet a lot of interesting people in your bookshop! It could also be good advertising for your store!

The last time France and I were talking, she thought it was really incredible that the connection between you, Tina and Vivi, and her, Geraldine and myself was very much destiny playing a role!

The world really is a small place, and made that much smaller thanks to the internet!

  • 7 Mia // Aug 3, 2008 at 8:42 pm

    Maybe I will…
But I think it is fun just to comment on yours…
    I need feedback…
And besides, I really enjoy meeting people in person more!I need to see and read the body language as well…
But I will think about it…

Yes,I think destiny is playing a big role here…
I feel that we all are “soulsisters” somehow…

The world is a small place…4 weeks and I’m in Madrid again….Hope to meet you all there!
Over a Kir Royal…and so much more!

    Just saw this blog…

It’s incredible I bought a book by Dr Emoto for my birthday called “Messages in Water” and I gave Geraldine one less than a month ago.

Funny that France said the same thing to us about the world being small.

  • 9 Lynn // Sep 30, 2008 at 4:58 pm

Tina, as Mia and I are always saying, there is no coincidence in this life. I think destiny has definitely played a role in all of us “meeting” through Geraldine.

Dr. Emoto’s book is incredible! Everytime I drink water, I always try to think pure positive thoughts. I should do that with everything I eat and drink, but I keep forgetting! Haha!

  • 10 Tina // Oct 15, 2008 at 1:15 am

me too… I should seriously start looking at what I eat or drink especially where I work…. luckily I bring a packed lunch to work these days..

  • 11 Lynn // Oct 15, 2008 at 7:14 am

Good for you! It’s not healthy eating like that everyday! Patrick and I usually go to a fast food restaurant about twice a year. No more than that! This year, however, we went 4 times because Katia was dying for a double quarter pounder with cheese or something like that!

Patrick would make all these wonderful French dishes everyday and Katarina said one day, “Let’s eat some real food like macaroni and cheese or better yet, let’s go to McDonald’s!” Patrick said, “Uh,…okay, let’s go to McDonald’s.” Lol.

  • 12 Tina // Oct 15, 2008 at 5:04 pm

he he he…. my flat mate has been dying to have a quarter pounder since she arrived in Madrid, so I brought her one from work…

I Think the cat was thinking… “where’s mine?” but she already had 5 chicken mcnuggets yesterday….

Ahh well, started bringing water to work too… but i’ve suddenly aquirred a taste for fanta lemon zero…

It’s up there with Diet Coke which explains what kind of person I am…. caffine addict who forever has weight issues… no I’m kidding…. I can drink a certain person under the table when it comes to Diet Coke!!

  • 13 Lynn // Oct 16, 2008 at 6:40 am

I hardly ever touch soft drinks….they say they’re the worst stuff for your health! Once in awhile I’ll have a ginger ale….actually now that I think about it, I had one about two years ago! Lol. Then again, I had two Schweppes this year…does that count!?

Timi is going to get fat if you feed chicken McNuggets and quarter pounders everyday!!! LOL!!!
