The View – If Looks Could Kill, John McCain Would Be Dead!

September 12th, 2008 · 6 Comments

Sen. McCain once again under siege in enemy territory! The looks of discontent (that’s putting it nicely!!!) on the faces of Whoopi, Barbara, and Joy today on The View was palpable, to say the least!  If looks could kill, Presidential candidate John McCain would be dead!!!  How he maintained such poise and light- heartedness amid all that negative energy is beyond me!

The Cheshire cat smile boycotted for McCain!Everyone knows that Whoopi Goldberg is for Obama, but when you host a show and invite a guest, have the courtesy or decency to look at them!  For a good 30 minutes Whoopi and Barbara could hardly bring themselves to look at Sen. John McCain. That, however, didn’t stop them from rolling their eyes along with Joy everytime McCain eloquently answered one of their questions.  (I’m sure when Barack Obama joins the girls, Whoopi will have her cheshire cat smile plastered onto her face and will be lapping up everything he says like a cat lapping up milk!  Barbara, on the other hand, will be batting her big fake eyelashes at the senator who is over thirty years her junior!)

Maybe she should call it a day!The question is: Is Barbara Walters afraid to go against Whoopi Goldberg in case she loses another B-celebrity like she lost Rosie O’Donnell?  Or did she have a pact with Whoopi to see who could spend the longest time not looking directly at McCain?  Doesn’t she realize that the person who really makes this show interesting, is Elisabeth Hasselbeck?  (My God!  Live long enough and anything can happen!!!  Me defending Elisabeth?  Bite my tongue!)

I’m not an Elisabeth Hasselbeck fan, far from it, but without her…. there wouldn’t a show!  Even if you don’t agree with her point of view, you have to admire how she stands up for herself against the other ladies.  Take away Elisabeth and you would have 3 over the hill ladies talking about celebrity gossip.  No, I haven’t forgotten Sherri.  She can say the dumbest, yet funniest things, but I have to hand it to her, she’s starting to read up on current affairs and actually putting in a valid opinion from time to time.  Not today!  Either she felt, I better stay out of this roadkill, or else she was physically sitting there, but mentally already spending the weekend with her son Jeffrey.

Ms. Sourpuss - she’s so annoying! As for Joy Behar, she’s the antithesis of her name!  One of her favorite expressions (which suits her to a tee!) is “That’s so annoying!”  She’s so annoying with her sourpuss face all the time!  I have to say, however, that today, between rolling her eyes with Whoopi and Barbara, she was actually the most cordial of the three to Sen. McCain and gave him the respect to sit there and talk to him face to face unlike the other two!

Maya Muses:  Do these ladies of The View really think that their opinions and views are going to change ours?  Are they that egotistical to imagine that they can persuade or influence someone to think or vote as they do?  Do they have the Oprah syndrome?!  Well ladies, welcome to Mayaland!!!  (Land of Illusions in case you don’t know!)

    Fascinating is it not?

I have almost stopped watching TV…..

I have never watched the ladies of The View…

    But I do know this:
Everyone have their opinions of how “things” should or should not be…And everyone believe that their opinion is The Right one!!!

Who am I to judge what is good or bad;right or wrong etcetera….

    If I would say anything…
It would be that it truly depends on your own belief system, your history, where you are in life right now, and how much you believe in our collective believes about how the world should look like!

So yes…welcome to the world of illusions!
The world is what you think it is….

    Sun is shining….good or bad?
    It is raining…good or bad?
McCain or Obama…who is the good one and who is the bad one?
Ask and you will get different opinions….for sure!
Who is right and who is wrong?
Does it really matter in the long run?
Looking back in history, nothing changes much…
But in the same time a lot is changing….

We live in Mayaland and I find it truly fascinating…..Don’t you?

Fun to be back and make comments…..
    Missed it!

Missed you while you were in Madrid! What a contrast to Sweden!!!

All politicians are the same, they tell you what you want to hear to get elected, and then they do what they want when they’re in office! It’s a question of who will screw up the system the least while in office. But! Ever since Sarah Palin (who is way too conservative for me) has come on board for McCain, it has made this presidential race so much more interesting!

It’s easy to be charming and amiable when you think that you’ve already won the case, like Obama did a short time ago, but now you see his true colors when the going gets tough and he’s losing ground in the polls.

Is this not the case with everyone?

When things runs smooth and people admires you, etecetera…it is easy to be charming….
But when it starts to get, as you say, though and people don’t give you the “right” attention anymore, the “true face” shines through….

And yes…promises, promises….it is easy to make them, but how about actually do what they promised after they been elected?

Yes….missed you too!But I miss Madrid and Tina and everything else there too…

Think I will go back there soon, with Ulf this time!Would be fun to meet France then,Ulf speaks good Spanish!

I’m sure he does, since he lived in Peru for many years! I think he would have a lot to talk about with David as well! Isn’t that strange that both you and Tina are with guys who lived in Peru, even though Ulf is Swedish! Small world!
