The saying that the best things in life are free is especially true when it comes to traveling! Some of the most memorable moments for me while traveling around the world were things that I saw, courtesy of Mother Nature, or the people that I met. The idea that you have to climb this monument or visit that expensive nightclub, etc., is not always the thing that you carry away as being the thing you enjoyed the most while traveling. Getting a free trip somewhere is even better!
Right now Patrick’s daughter France-Claire and a few of her friends are visiting and next month friends from Paris will be here so we’re looking for interesting places that they may enjoy visiting. I found a website that is offering free trips to Kissimmee, Florida in the Kissimmee Freedom Sweepstakes! They are giving away three weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two, and two weeklong vacations for four! Drawings will be held at the beginning of May and the beginning of June.
If you’re into exotic and custom made cars then you won’t want to miss Kissimmee’s Saturday Nite Cruise that has all the car buffs flocking to the Old Town district to feast their eyes on all types of automobiles. What started out as a fun way to spend a Saturday evening has turned into an 18 year-old tradition and a great street party with live entertainment, and best of all it’s free!
There are antique shops, sculptures that adorn the streets by local artists, waterfront parks for the cultural minded and a number of lakes, wildlife parks, hiking trails and the Great Florida Birding Trail for those who enjoy fishing, birdwatching, and are just all around nature lovers, and yes it’s all free!
Maya Muses: Of course if you’re looking for fine dining restaurants, great entertainment, amusement parks, good golf courses, and spas to be pampered, you’ll find all that in Kissimmee as well! I’m ready to try my luck and see if I can win a free trip!

I’m with you, Deena, I’d rather shop than look at cars!
