It’s All Maya!

This is the perfect example of why reality TV is anything but!  For all the fans of the Bachelor and the Bachelorette series, it’s the day after and you now realize that you’ve been screwed!

Reality Steve back in January has been saying that the surprise ending to the show would be exactly as he predicted!  Rumors were circulating for quite some time that Bachelor Jason Mesnick would propose to Melissa in the final episode and break Molly’s heart.  Then on the After the Final Rose show he would breakup with Melissa and tell Molly he was really in love with her.  (Are you still with me?)

Apparently this was all a farce.  Jason had chosen Molly from the beginning, but according to the shows producers some twist needed to be played to get the viewers excited.  There are two theories out there.  One is, the plan they came up with fell into place when Melissa wanted to leave the show because she was getting back together with her old boyfriend. 

The idea was then to have Melissa stay on and pretend along with Jason to have fallen in love.  Melissa’s parents, however, wanted no part of this scheme and refused to have anything to do with the show.  Deanna was brought back just for a cameo to spice things up, but everyone knew she wasn’t getting back together with Jason either.  It was just a nice free trip for both Deanna and Melissa to the beautiful country of New Zealand.

The other theory is that Melissa knew nothing about this and was the scapegoat for ABC ratings!  The one thing that ABC wasn’t counting on (especially if this is the case) is the negative reaction viewers now have toward Jason for doing such a horrible thing to Melissa!  The sweet bachelor dad that TV audiences fell in love with has quickly turned into “what a cad” for breaking Melissa’s heart!

Tonight’s second After the Final Rose show (a first in their history) is for Jason and Molly to show us how happy they are and hopefully all will be forgiven.  What ABC wasn’t counting on is the reaction of angry fans for being made a patsy in this whole charade!  If it turns out that Melissa, Jason and Molly were all in on this hoax, viewers are not only going to hate being duped, they’re going to be madder than hell for ABC wasting their time!  The only people looking good right now are Melissa’s parents!

Regardless, the bottom line is, the cads are not only the producers making people do things beneath their dignity because of contract obligations, all for the price of the almighty dollar and the sake of higher ratings, but also the participants for agreeing to it!  What was once a show that actually tried to get two people to fall in love, it has a pretty lousy track record with only one couple (Trista and Ryan) having a happy ending out of 18 seasons!   

Maya Muses:  Why would anyone go on this show looking for love when ending up with the Bachelor or the Bachelorette means the kiss of death to your relationship?!!!….Probably to find a Hollywood agent!
