It’s All Maya!

According to President Obama things are going to get worse before they get better.  Well I have a way for making things get better sooner rather than later!  Put all the corporate executives who are abusing their bailout money to stuff their own pockets (instead of what the money was intended for) in prison where they belong!!!  And yes!  Put a cap on the salaries of these ruthless people that don’t give a damn about anyone else but themselves, but why stop with those who are going to receive bailout money?  Why not include those who have already received it?!

Everyday we hear about these executives using billions of dollars for personal gain and yet nothing is being done about it!  Why isn’t the average American taxpayer not in an uproar over this!?  I don’t understand!  What happened to our Baby Boomer generation where we were out in the streets protesting about injustices back in the sixties and early seventies?  France recently had an all out strike in their country where millions of protestors were out in the streets of Paris and throughout France for many of the same reasons that Americans should be up in arms about!

When you see more than half a million people laid off in one month, yet there’s more news coverage about Jessica Simpson gaining weight, you begin to ask yourself what does this say about America?!!! 

What does it say when President Obama doesn’t even want to put a cost on his plan because he knows it will be upwards of a trillion dollars that not only we as tax payers will pay for, your childrens’ grandchildren will still be paying for it!  What are we leaving for future generations except debt? 

Where is this trillion dollars going to go?  Will it put jobs and money back into the hands of middle-class, working America?  If you look closely at Obama’s stimulus package, not really!  Only 3% is earmarked for road and highway spending; 2% will go to clean energy over the next two years.  All in all, less than 10% will actually go to stimulate the economy!!!

Instead over 90% of the money will go to special interest groups, yet none of these will bring in new jobs to help curb unemployment!  As the saying goes, “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.”  What happened to “buy American”?  Why is this no longer Obama’s credo?  Why is most of the trillion dollars going to Federal programs that have nothing to do with creating new jobs for workers?  Why is it more important to spend $88 million to design a new polar icebreaker than helping millions of people who are wondering where their next meal is going to come from, or how they’re going to put food on the table, and a roof over the heads of their children!

According to Obama’s plan, only 3% of this trillion dollar package will be spent this year and 13% next year; 16% in two years!  My question is why?  People need jobs now, not two or three years down the road!Doesn’t the situation that this country is in call for drastic measures?  Shouldn’t that money that the taxpayers are paying for be used now to stimulate the economy?  What happened to his “quick jolt” to the economy that he was talking about? 

Maya Muses:  As with Sarkozy, so too with Obama!  These men are politicians and as we know, politicians will say what the masses want to hear until they get elected, and then they do what they want!  Does this sound like change?  Nope!  Just more of the same, if you ask me!!!
