It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

My Family is a Virtual Sitcom!

My Brother Bam’s CorvetteWhen my younger brother, Bam, (not his real name) bought a beautiful black convertible Stingray Corvette, I could understand how he was constantly babying his new car, but when he seriously thought of moving to a new house so he could drive his car right into his bedroom, I thought he was going bonkers!  He had converted his two car garage into a family theater room that his children love, but moving for the sake of his Corvette is more than going through a midlife crisis if you ask me!

House For SaleA friend, Sandy, and I were on the phone yesterday and I told her that my other brother, Bob, was looking to buy a new house, but he was getting nowhere fast.  It seems that every house that finally had everything he wanted: four bedrooms, 3 baths, a large kitchen, dining room, living room, family room and basement, and oh yes, a big back yard (!) was then missing the one essential incredient - cathedral ceilings so he could put up his 9 ft. Christmas tree!

Christmas TreeSandy and I couldn’t stop laughing!  It’s funny when you actually say it to someone, but truly it’s no joke!  He’s turned down house after house because he won’t be able to fit his tree!  I told him to buy a new tree; and family members are conspiring to chop the top of his tree off!  Now if this had been an episode written on Seinfeld where neurotic George or crazy Kramer wouldn’t move into a new apartment because their Christmas tree didn’t fit; well most people would have thought the TV writers in Hollywood were going a bit too far!

Still, the saga continues…. will one brother end up driving his Corvette into his bedroom and the other one build a house around his fake Christmas tree?  Only time will tell!

Maya Muses:  Life at times is stranger than fiction and if you knew my family, this would come as no surprise!

I often compare my family to the Simpsons… he he he…

sometimes the resemblence is uncanny… minus the baby and the fact there are 2 cats and no dog….

Tina, that’s funny. My mom, all by herself, is a sitcom! I’ll do a post about her one day.

Mia, I guess it’s his hobby. He buys tons of expensive ornaments for his tree and it takes him forever to put them all on, but still I think someone is going to chop the top of that tree down soon! Haha! Or maybe not!

Me too! But I do have my books that I love! It’s a pleasure to just sit and look at my library. (I have a couple thousand books and I’ve read about 97% of it!) Otherwise, I don’t collect things.
