Hearing about Paul Newman’s passing today brought back so many memories from the past. Afterall, Paul was one of my first loves, and he starred in one of the best dreams I had in my entire life! It was a dream that I had when I was a teenager and it lasted for quite a long time as far as dreams go, but it ended much too quickly as far as I was concerned.
The year was 1969 and I had gone to see Paul Newman and Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Okay, so maybe I was influenced by the film and then again maybe not. Afterall, I had a poster of Paul on my ceiling alongside of George Harrison and they were the two faces I saw before turning out the lights in my bedroom every night.
I dreamt that I had the role of Katharine Ross and I was living out in the countryside with Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Unlike Katharine Ross, however, I didn’t have to choose between the two of them; they had to share me and the three of us were quite happy with this arrangement! (LOL!!!) We rode horses, had dinner together, and we laughed and talked. Afterwards, I began kissing
both of them! This was truly every girl’s dream!
Unfortunately, my alarm clock decided to go off right then! If I had a gun, I swear I would have shot that damn alarm, I was so angry! I grabbed my pillow and put it over my head and closed my eyes trying desperately to get back into my dream. It must have been a good ten or fifteen minutes that I stayed there hoping and praying that I could pick up where I left off….but it was not to be! Instead I was late for school!
Maya Muses: The dream had seemed so real that when I went to see The Sting a few years later, it was like looking at my two ex-lovers instead of two wonderful actors on the screen! Yes, I spent quite a bit of time in Mayaland when I was young! LOL.

I had almost the same dream…Lol…
I loved Paul the most though!
And yes,I did spent a lot of time in Mayaland too when I was young…..I remember the feeling when I was in the middle of a wonderful dream and the alarm clock woke me up!
Don’t use alarm clock’s anymore….If I have to wake up early,I just decide to do so…And I do….
Mayaland is still a fun place to visit…As long as you don’t get lost…
And I am going to miss those blue eyes….
I saw Paul Newman once…I was in Soller Majorca….It was Easter…
I passed a man, his hair was white, his eyes were blue,he was sitting on a bench, with his hands behind his head, smiling, looking so relaxed…
You could see that he enjoyed just sitting there,no one took any notice of him…
I looked into his eyes, his blue, blue eyes and knew it was him….I just smiled….and passed by…
Then I said to Ulf,who was with me:”Did you see who that was?”
“Who?”he said…
We went back..The bench was empty,he was gone…He may have been picked up by a car….
Then I got that feeling…
“Did I see what I saw?Did it really happened?”
But those blue, blue eyes….Like star sapphires!
It was him!

My great Aunt was lucky enough to meet Paul Newman some 40 years ago. he was walking about in London and my Auntie tapped him on the shoulder.
He was a very handsome guy, even when he was older. You could tell he was a beautiful man in his youth. Kinda like the Bollywood star Armitab Bachan.

Mia, I loved Paul the most too! As I said, I had his poster on my walls and ceiling, but not one photo of Robert Redford. Then again, Robert Redford wasn’t known that well, when I was a teenager. I think Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid made him a star.

Tina, he was a beautiful man, both physically and spiritually. No one had eyes like his, but he never liked his eyes because he was color blind.
I’m not really that familiar with Amitabh Bachan. I know he’s a superstar in India, but I’ve never seen any of his films.

I figured that was probably where you saw a lot of his movies. There’s such a huge Hindu population in London….and wonderful Indian Restaurants! Whenever we would pop over to London from Paris, we would always go to an Indian restaurant while we were there!
