Paris is made up of a collage of images so beautiful and unique that it seems as though some are just a backdrop for a movie set. The ever present booksellers along the quays are a perfect example. One wonders, do they really sell their goods? Are they able to make a living on what they sell? Or are they just happy to sit and chat with strangers in the open air surrounded by the beauty of Paris?
Maya Muses: I love strolling along the Seine looking at the used books, posters, music albums, art prints and more; always in search of a rare gem, a rare find. A simple, but wonderful part of life in this beautiful city.

Well,as you know we have a second hand book shop! And I really love to read. But to meet and chat with people in our little “bookshop” about life and “stuff”are really fun…Could write a book about it!
Have to go to Paris! Why haven’t I already been to Paris?Have no idea?

You should write a book! When you wrote about your bookshop and all the wonderful dinners with friends and neighbors, well just reading it made me feel like I was there! I’m sure it would be really interesting!

When ever I meet Mia, she´s always got a book for me to read. I´m reading one right now about this woman´s trek across Australia with an Aboriginal Tribe.
There was one book she recommended to me a few months back called “The Mist Of Avalon” well I read that in less than a week! all 1003 pages of it.

It’s always wonderful to escape to another time, another place as I’m sure you did with TMOA!

Well,Lynn….Maybe I should write a book…
One story, from the book world of our!
We had a friend who was a bit too fond of drinking, who helped us in our shop!
One evening he had been sitting drinking by himself after closing our shop…he got so drunk,he couldn’t go home…he for some mysterious reason, ended up sleeping in our shops display window, among the books!
I wished I’ve seen the reactions on the people passing by!!!
Have lots of these kind of true stories!

LOL!!! That is so funny! You really should write a book! You tell your stories so well. So does Tina, as a matter of fact!

So do you!
Maybe we could do something together…
As I said before,have lots of ideas…

Mia, have you thought about doing a blog?
9 Mia // Jul 10, 2008 at 8:14 pm
Yeah…but I don’t know a thing about blogs….
I like to write, and as you may have noticed, I don’t think when I write…
My mind is elsewhere, have no idea where, hehe
But,most of all I like to meet people and get to know them personally…
I like to “read” people,if you know what I mean…
I guess that’s why I so easily become a close friend very quickly with people I meet…
I do “See” them as they truly are,and accept them unconditionally…
Been around too long to judge people after what they do in life…
Hmmm…Life is amazing…don’t you think?

I too like to read other people’s blogs, but unfortunately I don’t have that much time to read very many. Reading people, however, is an entirely different thing; there’s so much more to people than what we see or what people want us to see. But yes, I agree with you, life is amazing!

I read a lot…but not so much blogs…
Having a second hand bookshop is good for many reasons…the right books for me to read just appear in the right moment…
Reading people is sometimes difficult!
Because what I see,and what they want me to see, are sometimes totally different…

Mia, you’re so lucky!!! I’ve always wanted to work in a bookshop! I love books (I’m never without a book in my hand or in my purse when I’m out.) so the idea of owning a bookstore is like a dream!!! I have my own library of several thousand books of which I have read 98%, but having a shop has always seemed magical to me!
13 Mia // Jul 11, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Really!
You get used to it as everything else…the fun part has always been all the interesting people we have met and are meeting…
It is Ulf who runs our latest” hole in the wall” bookshop,I take care of things at home…
We sell books on the Internet too..
But it is magical…I have always loved books too.
What kind of books do you read?
14 Lynn // Jul 14, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Almost everything except science fiction and cookbooks! LOL! (Patrick has a fantastic selection of cookbooks, him being a chef. He has about ten shelves of cookbooks of his own.)
I, on the other hand, have an extensive collection of new age books, astrology, numberology, reincarnation, angels, etc. both in French and in English.
I also have a large collection of the classics, in English, French and Spanish. A lot of popular authors as well in fiction, but I read a lot of non-fiction too…..autobiographies, self-help, medical, philosophical, etc.
I have a passion for books on physics, especially quantum physics and have quite a few, although it’s sometimes hard for me to follow, I must admit, especially if I’m reading on this topic in French and they start their theoretical calculations.
I started collecting all sorts of books that deal with Christmas, so I now have a small collection of that subject as well.
Okay….I’ll stop! There’s more, but when it comes to books, I just get carried away!

Patrick is a chef!?
Wow…I/we like cooking, and get inspired from cookbooks and TV programs about cooking….
Have some cookbooks, but not so many…
I can make a good meal out of practically nothing…I almost always improvise….
Come to think of it that is mostly my way of living…haha…
I have had a large collection of the same kind of books as you too(in English and Swedish though),but they sooner or later end up in our shop….for someone else to read..
.I only kept the books I want to read again….
Besides, the books I need always comes to me…
I don’t read SF either,but had a period when I read Fantasy books…Read the Lord of the Rings,of course….
I like quantum physics too….have you read Masaru Emoto’s books?
Do you know anything about SCIO?
Check it up,it is interesting….
A friend of mine works with it…She is amazing…
She tests all new/good things in her “clinic”…..
She is very good…
But as you say, sometimes it goes over my horizon…
I know others who works with it too…
I am more interested on testing it than the theoretical stuff!
I read fiction and non-fiction too….
For the moment I read Paulo Coehlo….
OK….I have to stop too….
God,there is so much we could talk about,,after a good dinner….
That Patrick and Ulf have created…hehe…
We being lazy ladies….
What do you think about the Slow living thing?
Read a book about that too….Good one….
Will,go clean the floors now….maybe….
16 Lynn // Jul 31, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Mia, when I left a comment on Steer Clear of ….Steer, I was going to mention Masaru Emoto’s book on the experiment he did with drops of water! So interesting and the photographs are amazing!
Working with Katia to try and change her energy levels is very similar to SCIO and bringing a balance of energy back into the body.
So! We already have an awareness of several different concepts, you and I. Slow living, I have to laugh because anyone who knows me would say I have no problems practicing Slow Living! LOL! My family would say I’ve been on a continuous vacation all my life! (I agree, but I always bring up the fact that I deserve a vacation in this lifetime [Karma] because of what took place in my previous life!
I am well aware of Paulo Coehlo, but haven’t read any of his books. What are you reading?
17 Mia // Aug 1, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Wow..what a “coincidence”!
You know; I hope Carlos and Geraldine have read Masaru Emoto’s books too…
It would explain the bigger meaning of what they are doing…why and how they touch people the way they do..
I met Masaru,a wonderful, humble man…On a discourse he had…
We listened to Maria Callas singing and he showed photos on “watercrystals” that her voice created in the same time….It was very powerful!
I then wondered what the “watercrystals” would look like from Carlos and Il Divo’s voices/music?And also from Innocence?
I never had the chance to ask him if he done any on ID…
I wonder how aware C and G are about these things?
Because they have touched so many people,so deeply….
Including myself….
Yeah….SCIO is all about balancing energies…
There is much to talk about energies….
Slow Living is my way of living too….hehe….
A slow breakfast is a must for me…..for example.
I have never done a “career” in life, never had the drive for that…my passion has always been to live life “My Way”…And enjoy it 100%,even the “hard” parts….
Yeah….I use to say that I’m an old soul…
“been there,done that,tried almost everything before”;in other lifetimes…
I done regressions,so I know….Learned to do it myself too,it fascinated me at the time…
In this lifetime I just want to BE…if you know what I mean..To enjoy being here and now….To trust in the abundance of the Universe….
Coehlo:
Just finished “eleven minutes”,his most erotic book, good one!
Read;”O alquimista”,”O diário de um mago”…
He is a fascinating man,a real “magician”,with a lot of insights…
Have you read E.Tolle? He is good….
I’m hungry…have to go eat something….
See you soon I hope!
