It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

Happy Halloween!

Jack-o-lanterns for Halloween!

Maya Muses:  The hour has changed from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time and once again the clock has turned backwards and nighttime will come early once again.  At least that’s what has happened on Halloween here in France.  In the States the clock will turn back next week.

I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!  The ghosts and goblins have begun to make their appearance in France, Spain, and other European countries as well. I was surprised to see so many Halloween stores and ads in Madrid this past week.  Halloween has definitely come to Europe!

Hope you had a nice one as well Harriet. Patrick and I celebrated in the Latin Quarter. We only saw a couple of witches and a ghost! I think it’s caught on more in Madrid than in Paris!

Remember the next time you’re in the Latin Quarter to check out the veau citron at Restaurant L’Isola (Italian). The Latin Quarter is where I make my ‘home’ when I’m in Paris.

I handled all the trick or treaters by myself (around 80 based on the candy that I gave out, giving 2 pieces per child plus one toothbrush). Richard is down in San Antonio visiting his daughter.

It’s hard not living in the 6e after spending most of my years in Paris there, but we’ll have to try out L’Isola. I don’t think I’ll try the veal, however, I don’t like any type of citrus with my food, except of course, a tarte au citron!!! (Ladurée perferably!)

(Btw, I love the idea of giving out a toothbrush to kids on Halloween!)
