It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

Maya Muses:  My Mom is 86 years young; still full of life and laughter!  Last year she traveled halfway around the world, from Paris to Hawaii to Mexico and everywhere in between.  This year she hasn’t gone so far, but she’s still traveling!  A few days ago she was in Dayton, right now she’s in Pittsburgh, and in a few weeks she’ll be in Colorado welcoming her grandson Doug home on leave from the war in Afghanistan.  Happy Birthday Mom!  We love you!

    Happy Birthday to you!
Now I see where Lynn’s beauty comes from!
And all her traveling, its in her genes!
    Sending you all my love!

My mom is 81..she hasn’t traveled much, but she loves to be out in the woods, picking mushrooms and berries!
She called me the other day on her cellphone…
She started with saying:”I wish you were here!”I’m standing in one of our chanterelle
places..and there are so much of them…I love this..I’m so happy I can still do this!”
( she has had difficulties in walking, but is better now..)
And when I talked to her yesterday we had a laugh! She said that she forget things…
(yeah, searching after her car-keys is…yes, she still drives, she is a very good driver too…But those car-keys…hehe…we’ have spent a lot of times looking for them!)
Anyway…She said that she would go buy some pills that was good for your memory…the only thing was that she had written down the name of them, but forgot where she had the put the note!
It was on a good place, but where?

Well, this can happen to anyone…

My younger brother is very absentminded…
He once forgot to pick up my dad, when he was alive,we were having a family dinner at my mom’s place(they didn’t live together)…when he and his girlfriend arrived we asked him” where is daddy?”…”Oh,darn,I forgot”he said…We couldn’t believe that he could have done such a thing….He lives in his own world sometimes…

    Ooops….
Off the topic again! My mind has a habit of doing this…too much in there …or?

    Have a wonderful time always!
A big HUG to you…Lynn’s Mom!
    And to everyone else too..

The day I met Lynn I found, not only the love of my life, but a second beautiful mom.
    Happy birthday.
    Much Love.

Aw! Patrick, that’s so sweet! (Mom thinks so too!)

  • 4 Lynn // Aug 10, 2008 at 10:36 pm

Mia, I’m more forgetful than my mom! When we’re together, I tell her to remind me where I left something, or to remind me that I need to do this or that, because she’ll remember, but I’m always forgetting stuff!

I’m not as bad as your brother, however! I don’t think I would ever have forgotten my dad! Your poor dad, I hope he eventually made it to dinner!

I think the secret to staying sharp might be your mom is always out in nature and my mom loves to tend to her garden. You can still find her planting flowers, or digging weeds, etc. She loves it! I personally prefer going to a flower shop and getting freshly cut flowers, but that’s me!

(My Mom thanks you for your well wishes!)

Yes,being out in nature is good in many ways…
And My mom loves to plant flowers too…

    I love flowers…For example; I can’t pass by a rosebush without sniffing their fragrance!Or lilacs,jasmines etecetera..

No,my dad didn’t made it to dinner! It was already on the table, and it was too far to go back and get him…
Yeah..I felt so sorry for him!
We had a dinner for him later, and picked him up our selves, this time!

I think I have a good “picture memory”,not sure it is the right word?

But I am terrible remembering, names and which books I have read!I have to ask Ulf !He knows!

    By the way…Something I noticed;

Men,when they are looking for something and you say:”It is in the wall cupboard!”
They open it,take one look and then say:
    “No it isn’t there!”
Then, You open it…And it is there, maybe behind something..but that they don’t thought about!
Maybe not all men are like this, but all I know are!

Hahaha!!! I think all of them are like that! Patrick does the same thing! He’s constantly saying where’s this and where’s that, and when I look, it’s right there! I tell him, “what do you want it to do, bite you in the nose and say, ‘here I am, here I am!’”

  • 7 Mia // Aug 12, 2008 at 8:54 am

Hahaha!Good to know that it truly is a “Man thing”!
Wonder why they are like that?

    I asked Ulf just now!
He said; that he has a picture in his mind of how it should be and if it is not he can’t see it!
And,that he need a detailed description!
He also said that he is too impatient! It has to be there instantly!
I think there is more to it,but it is interesting how differently we function!

  • 8 Lynn // Aug 12, 2008 at 5:47 pm

I think there’s more to it also. Hmm,…. like maybe it’s too much of an effort for them to move one or two items to see if it’s behind something else!

Then again, we have to admit that women are from Venus and men are definitely from Mars! Have you read the book, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus? We truly do speak a different language and see things totally from a different viewpoint.

  • 9 Mia // Aug 13, 2008 at 11:55 am

    Yes,I have read the book!
    And it is true!

We came to talk about this over a dinner with a male friend of ours!
He said that he find it very difficult to understand women…
He wants us to Really Say what we want, instead of giving “hints”….

As when passing a flower-shop…The woman says:” What beautiful flowers, they are so lovely!”
Meaning:” Can you go in and buy me some flowers?”
The man only hears what she said…..
He just say:” Yeah, they are very nice!”and walk on!
The woman then might say:”But I want you to buy me some flowers!”
The man says:” Why didn’t you say so in the first place! I’m no mind-reader!”

Will we ever learn to speak the same language?

But it is fun when you know that this is the way it is!Makes it much easier to avoid most of the “pitfalls” in a male female relationship!

  • 10 Lynn // Aug 13, 2008 at 8:15 pm

So true! We say something and they hear something else and vice-versa! I don’t think we’ll ever speak the same language.

Now when I see a pretty bouquet of flowers while I’m out shopping, I just go ahead and purchase them myself. Then when Patrick comes home, he says, “Wow! Those are really pretty flowers, who bought them for you?!” And I answer, “You did!”

  • 11 Mia // Aug 14, 2008 at 9:17 am

Probably not,but we can at least try!

Haha,I will do the same next time!
