It’s All Maya!

I’ve always adored Audrey Hepburn, her beauty, grace, elegance, and even her charming accent was something a bumbling teenager, who had nothing in common with her except for the color of her hair, could possibly dream!  And so I dreamed….

Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina.  Sabrina is falling in love with Linus Larrabee (Humphrey Bogart) as he pretends to be sailing off to Paris.

Sabrina:  This is what you do on your very first day in Paris. You get yourself, not a drizzle, but some honest-to-goodness rain, and you find yourself someone really nice and drive her through the Bois de Boulogne in a taxi. The rain’s very important. That’s when Paris smells its sweetest. - It’s the damp chestnut trees.

Meryl Streep, possibly the greatest actress ever (in my opinion anyway).  How does she manages to get so much emotion to play on her face as in the role of Francesca in the Bridges of Madison County when she’s sitting in the truck and she wants to leave her husband to run away with Robert (Clint Eastwood) and she’s frozen there with her hands on the door handle deciding what to do?  Either way her life will be changed forever.

Meryl Streep in The Bridges of Madison County Francesca has given up the love of her life for the dull daily existence with her husband and her children and she’s sitting at the kitchen table with them thinking….

Francesca:  But love won’t obey our expectations. Its mystery is pure and absolute. What Robert and I had, could not continue if we were together. What Richard and I shared would vanish if we were apart. But how I wanted to share this. How would our lives have changed if I had? Could anyone else have seen the beauty of it?

Unfaithful, starring beautiful Diane Lane and gorgeous Olivier Martinez meet on the windy streets of New York City right outside his home.  Two strangers, drawn toward one another end up to his loft….

Diane Lane in Unfaithful.  Just moments after meeting her, Paul (Olivier Martinez) has her read a poem from “The Rubaiyat” by Omar Khayyám, with all the innuendos of seizing life to the fullest in the moment.  Afterall,….it’s all that life guarantees. She begins to read….

Connie:  Drink wine, this is life eternal.   This, all that youth will give to you.  It is the season for wine, roses, and drunken friends.  Be happy for this moment,….for this moment is your life.
