Now that the campaign is nearing its end, all the Hollywood celebrites are coming out of the woodwork to voice their opinion. Hey, that’s fine! This is a free country and everyone should be heard. But,….and there’s always a but, where do these egocentric people get the notion that just because they endorse a certain candidate, people are going to follow them like a bunch of sheep!? Hmm, maybe because some people do!!!
For the rest of us, however, just because celebrities are able to voice their opinions and have the exposure of millions of people listening to what they say, doesn’t mean that fans are going to vote like them!
Like Matt Damon, “Oh Matt! Of course I’ll not vote for Sarah Palin if you dislike her that much! We wouldn’t want a bad Disney movie, now would we? And by the way, what should I have for breakfast tomorrow Matt, now that you’re taking care of all my decision making for me?!”
Or Lindsay Lohan going on a rampage against Palin and now mums the word because Obama refused the help she offered!
Or the D-celebrities of The View who are delusional and tear each other apart thinking they can actually persuade people to vote like them! LOL!!!
Or Oprah, she wasn’t afraid to go campaigning for Obama earlier this year, but what is she afraid of now? Is she worried that having Palin on her show will take votes away from Obama? Of course she is!
They should all take a look at Angelina Jolie and maybe keep quiet! Like Angelina said, “I have not decided on a candidate. I am waiting to see the commitments they will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world.” Is that why people are interested in hearing which candidate she supports, and why both Obama and McCain are trying to get her to endorse their ticket? Could be! (You hear that Lindsay?!!!)
Maya Muses: If celebrities wants to talk politics, talk politics, not nonsense! I may agree with them, or disagree with them, but if they make intelligent, coherent arguments for one candidate and against another, I’ll listen to both sides and decide for myself who I want to vote for.
