Is the case of missing Caylee Anthony going to end up like the two other cases that I mentioned, where the bodies of Maddie McCann and Natalee Holloway were never found? Believe it or not, there are similarities between the disappearance of Maddie McCann and Natalee Holloway; not only have their bodies never been found (dead or alive) the police botched both investigations from the start.
Maddie McCann
The adorable little 3 year-old Maddie McCann who disappeared in May 2007 from her room at a holiday resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal has never been found. The Portuguese police wasted precious time in searching for the little toddler and she could very well still be alive anywhere in the world. Maddie’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, were having dinner with friends at a restaurant 200 yards away while their three children slept when, according to the evidence, a break-in occurred. However, there was also evidence pointing to the suspicion that Maddie was dead inside the room and in the trunk of their car and therefore the parents continued to be the main suspects for the Portuguese police, but they were never able to get a confession from either parent.
The case was closed earlier this year and has remained unsolved. The parents, both doctors, still remain under suspicion by many people who followed the case and think they may have accidentally killed their daughter by giving her an overdose of sedatives to put the child to sleep. Maddie has never been found.
Natalee Holloway
Natalee Holloway was an entirely different situation. While on a high school graduation trip to Aruba in May 2005, friends saw Natalee leave the popular nightspot Carlos’ n Charlie’s with Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. Unlike Maddie McCann, all evidence point to Joran van der Sloot who was the last person to have been with her as the culprit. Many speculate that his father, Paulus van der Sloot (an Aruban judge!) was the person Joran called after he sexually assulted the teenager and then knocked her unconscious. January of this year Van der Sloot confessed on camera to crime reporter Peter R. de Vries what really happened to Natalee. (According to the young Dutch student, he called “someone” and this person told him to go home; he would take care of her. She was taken out to sea by this “someone” while she was unconscious. Van der Sloot confesses that it was possible that Natalee may still have been alive when she was tossed overboard.)
The Aruban police bungled the investigation like Keystone Cops. Natalee’s parents Beth Holloway Twitty and Dave Holloway showed restraint and eloquence when confronted by so many setbacks from both the Aruban and the Dutch authorities. By all practical purposes, Van der Sloot killed Natalee yet he remains free to this day because a Dutch judge refused to grant an arrest warrant. What does this say about the Dutch authorities?
I don’t know why, but I’ve always suspected that Natalee’s disappearance was part of a white slave sex ring and that the disc jockey Steve Gregory Croes had a part in it. Natalee’s body was never found.
Caylee Anthony
This brings me to Caylee Anthony. I am hoping that the Florida police will bring justice to little 3 year-old Caylee Anthony who has been missing since the second week of June 2008. Evidence continues to mount against the toddler’s own mother, Casey Anthony, who didn’t report her daughter missing for almost an entire month! During that time, the mother of the missing girl was seen and photographed out partying nightly with a bunch of friends, she got herself a tattoo Bella Vita “Beautiful Life” after the so-called kidnapping of her daughter, she deleted over 200 photographs of her child, borrowed a shovel from a neighbor around the time of the toddler’s disappearance, stole two gas tanks from her parent’s garage, and abandoned her parent’s car.
Casey Anthony has lied continuously to the police; she took them to an apartment where she says she left her daughter with a baby sitter, but the apartment had not been occupied for 9 months. Evidence has shown that Caylee’s body was in the trunk of that car and that the little girl is dead. Both hair samples and air samples in the trunk of the car was of human decomposition. Further testing has shown that a high level of chloroform was also in the trunk.
Casey, Cindy and George Anthony, the mother, and the grandparents of the missing toddler, are the antithesis of Beth Twitty and Dave Holloway; they evoke no sympathy from the public. When Cindy Anthony first called 911 to say that her abandoned car “….smells like there’s been a dead body in the trunk of that car….” now claims that it was a 3 week-old pizza in there! George Anthony, making excuses like his wife, said yesterday “….the person who was in back of the car was not my granddaughter….”!!!
Maya Muses: Hey George, if it’s not your granddaughter, how many other dead bodies does your daughter go driving around with in the trunk of your car?!!! I just hope the Orlando police do not bungle this investigation and there is justice for little Caylee Anthony even if her body is never found! I personally think Casey Anthony, took the gas tanks and shovel to burn her daughter’s body and then to bury it, and that’s why until now, Caylee’s body has not been found.

Shannon, I wish there were more information about this tragic case. How could this beautiful little girl disappear without a trace of whether she’s alive or dead?! The whole world was looking for her…..but after police closed the case in July of 2008, little has been said about her whereabouts.
