It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

“By The Time I Get To Phoenix….”

February 5th, 2010 · 7 Comments

Getting to Phoenix.

Probably a lot of young people have never even heard of the song, By the Time I Get to Phoenix, but for any Baby Boomer, this was a big Glen Campbell hit back in the 60s!  Well, we got to Phoenix (ten of us!) and after the snow in New York and Pittsburgh, a balmy, sunny 70° (21°C) was somewhat of a shock to our system!

Patrick next to a skyscraper cactus!

The shock didn’t last long, however, as we took off coats, sweaters, scarves, gloves, and wool caps for lighter clothes.

Beautiful Arizona

From skyscrapers to mountains, from streets filled with cars and people, to open plains filled with brush and cactus, we marveled at how beautiful and vast our country truly is.

Beautiful Arizona

Maya Muses:  It was a feast for the eyes, where the sky meets the earth and clouds caress the tips of the mountains, on sacred ground and it was nurturing to the soul for us to see such beauty passing by.

Beautiful Arizona

    Thanks Meredith,

Deena, that cactus is a desert skyscraper! Patrick is 6 ft. tall and that cactus sure towers over him!

I thought I would check in to see if you had any photos of all the snow in Pittsburgh. My sister sent me a youtube of all the snow at CMU — lots of it!!! (My niece used to go to school up there.)

But I see that you guys are still traveling. Thanks for sharing these photos. When I went to Colorado last fall for the first time, I had the same feelings……

Nope…..we’re still traveling! Today was another interesting day in New Mexico, that I’ll talk about later in my blog! We missed the big snow storm that my brother said gave them over 10″ of snow while we’re still here in balmy weather and beautiful blue skies!
