It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

Autumn - My Favorite Time Of Year

September 10th, 2009 · 10 Comments

Sunset on the Beach

It feels like Autumn already this year and that’s so unusual for here!  Patrick and I have spent the last few days walking on our “private beach”.  We marvel at the beauty and the spectacular sunsets where the light changes from moment to moment.

Bird wading at Sunset

Where ducks and geese head south for the winter and make a bi-annual stop to rest and to eat.  Where dolphins return home every evening in the Cove after spending a day feeding in the ocean.

Alone on the Beach

We walk for miles and miles, and not a soul to be seen; just the two of us, one with nature feeling the warm wet sand between our toes as the waves weave in and out in a never-ending dance.

The everchanging light on the Beach

No matter what goes on in our lives, everything is forgotten on our beach as we become one with the sea and the sky, at one with the sun setting and the moon rising.

Retracing our Steps

We retrace our ephemeral steps as we watch the first stars making their entrance in the evening sky.  There’s so much beauty to behold and yet no one does.  We’re alone.  Alone, but one with nature as we breathe in deeply the salt air and we’re extremely grateful for this time in the “now”.

Evening on our Beach

Maya Muses:  The only ones on the beach with us are the seagulls, the palm trees, our family of dolphins, and an adorable crab who stood his ground and let us take a bunch of photos of him!

Patrick and the Crab in a Showdown!
Patrick and the Crab in a Showdown!

The Crab wins!
The Crab wins!

Look! We’re all alone!
Look! We’re all alone!

I don’t know why no one wants to come???
I don’t know why no one wants to come?!

Well then get out of town!
Well then get out of town!

Ever-changing light.
Everchanging light.

Pink and Lavender Skies.
Indigo skies.

Evening has come.
Time to go home.

Time to go home.
Evening has come.

Gorgeous post. Lovely to ’see’ you.

It’s the beginning of Spring here. We had a few lovely days but it’s back to winter storms. I think the next day it ‘feels’ like Spring I will go for a walk with my camera and see if I can find my way back into blogging.

Thanks Michelle! As I wrote in my comment to you a few months back you’ve helped me more than you know in reassessing my own priorities. I truly wish you much success in all your endeavors and have missed dropping by your “old house in Paris”.

So, I’m glad to hear that you may be opening up your doors and windows once again! If you do, I will definitely stop by for a chat!!!

Beautiful photos! And look at the bright side, you don’t have to fight the overcrowded beaches like they do in the south of France!

    Great photos……………

That little crab does seem to have an attitude!

Funny you should say that Deena, I saw photos not too long ago of the French Riviera in August where there wasn’t an inch of sand left, that’s how crowded the beaches were!

So-o-o…..believe me! I’m not complaining. Our walks sure wouldn’t be the same if there were hundreds of people lying around putting suntan lotion on their bodies, and children screaming with delight! Or music blaring while vendors are hawking their goods! No,….it just wouldn’t be the same!

Harriet, that little crab was so cute, you can’t imagine! He stood his ground and when Patrick moved a little closer, he just took a few steps back. Then when Patrick moved back, he was cheeky enough to take a few steps forward!!!

He was so adorable, I wanted to take him home and adopt him as a pet!!!

Good thing he was little or else Patrick would have taken him home, not as a pet, but rather to put him in a pot!!! LOL!!!

    Wonderful Photos….

Oh, I Love to take a walk on the beach too…Do It wherever I can…
We did that every morning and evening when we were in Portimão in Portugal…
When all the sun-bathing people was not there..
It was magical…I like it when you are almost alone on the beach…I can be there for hours!
    I feel free…innocent…You know what I mean!

    See you next year…somewhere…
Will send You an Email soon…

    Salut Lynn,
