The one thing that I will miss here are the long walks on our private beach, where our dolphins appeared to us everytime I let out a high tone whistle. Patrick use to look at me like I was crazy when I would pucker up and whistle as high a note as I could muster, but he soon changed his tune when time after time no more than a few minutes would pass before several dolphins would swim up in front of us.
I won’t miss the hot weather, however, where it feels like summer all year round and where you dress in shorts and sandles even at the end of October. Where day after day you wake up and pull back the curtains and you’re guaranteed to see the sun shining and the temperature climbing into the 80’s, 90’s, or the awful summertime 100’s. Thank God for air-conditioning!

I won’t mind leaving here where there is no changing of the seasons, nor the turning of the leaves into brillant hues like those found on an artist’s palette.
Where you don’t see the snow gently falling and laying a thick white blanket on the ground and everything looks so clean and sounds like you’re walking around in cotton candy, because you don’t walk here where sidewalks are as scarce as a cold windy day.

Going back and forth from here to France every year is something we no longer want to do. Afterall, there are just too many other places in the world we want to see and experience! My entire life has been an adventure to say the least; moving from one country to another, and then another, and another country after that…. It’s time to put down our roots, but by no means will that mean the adventures will end. Afterall, when you live in Paris it’s so easy to travel the world!

And so, our beautiful home is now filled with boxes and packing paper and things we want to take back to France with us, and things we want to sell or give away. With time passing so quickly we need to hurry so we can spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family in Pittsburgh where there’s always snow in winter! Then we’ll spend New Year’s Eve in New York City (Times Square) with family (Katarina, Rose and Holly) from Texas and several of our good friends from Paris. We plan a few more stops along the way at the beginning of the New Year before finally returning to France by spring.
Maya Muses: I’ve always loved changes! Will I write more or write less during these coming months? I have no way of knowing. I just know that each morning when I draw the drapes it’ll be a surprise that greets me and that already puts a smile on my face!

I understand what you are saying…
There is a time for everything….
To know the Art of having a sort of Equilibrium through all adventures in our life’s…To be able to be Open enough to Explore,See,Experience and Interact With this Wonderful world we call ours…
To “speak” with the dolphins,to a little crab…etc
To really be Present and “Feel” where you are in the moment of Now…To take it All In…
So..Now you are ending a phase in your lives and are ready to begin a New one…Wonderful is it not?
I Love changes too..But I also love the stillness in the middle of all the changes…You know what I mean?
So…
Now I will go and enjoy a Very late breakfast,
with Ulf…
It is raining outside and cold, the trees are letting go of their leaves…It is nice to just watch this from our windows, right now…
There is so much in life that we don’t appreciate until it is gone…Small thing..
I am learning to do this more and more…
Hmmm..So…Now I will enjoy a cup of tea and my home-baked bread…
Wonderful photos by the way…
Hugs..to You all!

This place is a little jewel. All our friends and family who came to visit us thought so as well. This pretty town has been our home for 6 years and I know, in my heart, that it will stay part of my home for the rest of my life.
Yes, for a person from Normandy like me, summers were challenging. First I learned not to complain about the heat and the sticky humidity, but rather appreciate wearing only light clothes for more than 6 months a years, the tropical fiora, the long walks on the beach and our peaceful sunset picnics watching the dolphins.
We are returning to Paris, but it’s only an “Aurevoir” not an ” Adieu”…..so from the bottom of my heart thank you, all of you, who helped me to enjoy this beautiful country.
Thank you America !!!!

Good luck in all your adventures, but do you think there might be room in your bags for me? I promise, I don’t take up much room!!!

Mia, it sounds lovely your tea time with home baked bread….mmm!
I don’t think we can be anywhere else but in the moment when you are surrounded by boxes!
It’s so true that we take for granted the good things in our lives until they are gone, but I’m already missing the things that I’ve always enjoyed here. Sitting on my patio looking at the water and the trees will be greatly missed, but even now it’s hard to find a place to sit! Lol.
Oh well, everything in its time…..

Patrick, you’ll be back…..although, South America and Asia are definitely the places that seem to be calling us…..or New Zealand!!!

Deena,….sure come along! You’re not going to fit in my suitcases, however! I don’t think I’ll be able to fit a sheet of paper in there once I get through packing. They will be busting at the seams!
I keep telling my friends in Paris (who keep monitoring our progress here) that we accumulate so much useless stuff that we have no real need for and can very easily live without, but do we? Of course not!
What happened to my motto: “Less is more.”??? ……Apparently it fell on deaf ears!

Good luck Lynn! Even though I love my life, you make me want to pack my bags and start an adventure of my own!!

Skip the packing, Cid, and just take the adventure, trust me!!!

Wow! You are leaving such a beautiful place, but I suspect that your heart is taking you where you need to be.
I hope the next few months leave you with some lovely memories to take with you.

Thanks Michelle, we came here thinking it would be a great middle ground for being close to my family and Patrick’s. It didn’t turn out that way. (Too difficult to get to.) Besides, too much sun and solitude can sometimes become too much of a good thing! Lol.
(Btw, I hope all your projects are turning out the way you want…..)

Hi Lynn,
I still chuckle when I think about talking to you on the phone (before I had actually met you) to ask you to give Patrick a message about those treasured lamb chop bones I had in the freezer! Richard was concerned as to what your take would be on the call, but making a call like that is just me.
We are fortunate that you chose to locate in our city for these past few years and that our paths crossed.
I’m excited for you as you begin this next chapter in your lives. You’re definitely going to have to continue your blog once you get settled in so that we can hear about what’s going on with you!
All the best!
Harriet

Thanks Harriet, I’m sure we’ll be seeing you and Richard in Paris! …..And believe me, I did ask Patrick when he got home, “Who’s this lady that wants to know all about lamb and lamb chop bones!!!” LOL!!! It was surely a unique way to meet someone!
