Americans Have Been Living Under A Dictatorship Longer Than Cubans!

October 27th, 2008 · 7 Comments

Fidel CastroOkay!  Don’t get your feathers all ruffled or put yourself in a tizzy!  Hear me out, and you just might be agreeing with me by the end of my post!

In Cuba the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) is the only political party allowed to operate in Cuba.  In the United States the only two parties that actually are allowed to operate in America are the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.  Any other party just doesn’t have a chance and, therefore, the two parties have formed a co-dictatorship!

Republican PartySo where is the difference?  Where are the choices?  In Cuba, Fidel Castro was the dictator of his country and now his brother has succeeded him.  Did the people have a choice?  No!  Were they able to vote for someone else if they wanted to?  No!  In the United States, do the people actually have a choice to choose outside of these two parties?  No!  Are they able to elect someone who doesn’t belong to either party?  No!

You may think that’s not true, but it is!  You may say that there have been many other parties throughout the history of the US.  Yes,…. but, I’m not talking about back in the 1700’s & 1800’s where there were other party presidents!  I’m talking about the past 150 years where if you don’t belong to this co-dictatorship, you don’t have a chance of getting elected!  At the moment there are five parties, yet how many know the candidates of these other three parties?  More importantly…why do we not know?

Third PartiesA third party in the US does not have a chance of getting elected president!  A third party does not have a chance of even competing with the two dictatorial parties.  A third party is not even included in the debates!  So how can Americans hear third party views on issues that are important to the people!  They can’t!  Why?!

Money!  Plain and simple, money controls who gets nominated.  Money controls who gets air time?  Money controls who gets backing to push their agenda once the candidate is elected.  Money, money, money!  Money has kept this two party system dictating politics in America and nobody questions why!  Nobody says a thing about big businesses, big money, or big interest groups putting large sums of money into the hands of these two parties!

Democratic PartyIn France there are 13 major parties that are represented and have members elected into government.  When there are debates during their presidential elections, all parties participate, all parties are represented!  Why, in this so-called democracy in America is there not equal time for all candidates regardless of party affiliations?!  Why?!

Maya Muses:  In this 2008 election where a vast number of Americans  are dissatisfied with both candidates, where a vast number are going to choose someone they don’t like, but they like the other candidate even less….a third party could have finally won!  That is….if they had been allowed to debate!  If they had been given equal air time!  If they would have had the resources!  If they had the equal footing that the two dictatorial parties have; then it could have truly been a time of change!  A time of change where both the Democratic and the Republican parties would have been defeated!

What a pity that Americans have been living under a co-dictatorship for more than 150 years!

LOL!!! Americans continue to live in Mayaland, what can I say! Wake up America!

Besides as an American….I am entitled to say it! Others who aren’t American can also say whatever they like, but I’m not sure many Americans will appreciate it. Then again, I could be wrong!

As an american citizen (by choice not by birth) I am always frustrated at every election especially the presidential one. Even after 28 years in this great country it’s hard for me to understand that we still only have these two parties! Why should they have the “right” to be the only ones as the front runners.
I will vote once again for RAlph Nader even though I know he has no chance of winning. What a pity!

What is a pity is that in this so called democracy, Ralph Nader wasn’t able to debate with the other two candidates and therefore, most people don’t even know what his platform is!

I have to disagree…if you want to blame someone, blame the millions of ignorant voters not the third party candidates’ bank accounts. There’s no reason why millions of voters can’t take the time to research every candidate running for President and vote for whom they feel is the best candidate instead of jumping on the bandwagon of who other people are voting for. If they all did that, a 3rd party candidate could win with little money and no debate access.

want to see the voters should be blamed? Here you go

Edward, yes people should take the time to research the candidates and vote according to whichever platform suits them best, but the reality is most of them don’t! As the You Tube video that you pointed out to shows, most people don’t even know why they’re voting for the candidate of their choice.

So how do most people end up deciding on who to vote for? Most of them, like you said, end up jumping on the bandwagon that is fed to them by the news media. The more you hear from a candidate and the more you see them, the more they enter your psyche for one reason or another, but usually has nothing to do with what they stand for, and in order for them to do that, they need money!
