It’s All Maya!

If Life is an illusion, then why do I keep banging my head against the wall?

Si la Vie est une illusion, pourquoi je n'arrête pas de me taper la tête sur les murs?

A Sublime Sunday

Patrick looking for crabs.

Sometimes it’s good to just forget about everything and all the things going on in life and around you.  Sometimes all we need is to take a moment to meditate, to relax, to appreciate the good things in life.  To breathe deeply and clear the mind; today was one of those days.

Funny how a poem, a song, a quote, a photograph, or the ocean can make you sit back and step outside of yourself; out of this so-called reality, and reflect upon the beauty and tranquility that surrounds us.  Today was one of those days.  A special moment with Patrick looking for crabs for dinner.

Maya Muses: Could it be that this peacefulness came about because I didn’t put on the television today?  I’m sure of it!

We relaxed too yesterday! You can do it in many different ways….But the peace mother nature gives me is something special!

I’m happy you took your time to just enjoy being in the here and now!

Thanks god that we had a pizza in our freezer. It was a beautiful day (a gorgeous sunset) and the crabs were all gone (on vacation I suppose).

The sunsets on the beach are fantastic! This part is the beginning of the cove where the dolphins come home at night. I think the reason they come here is because it’s away from the big waves and it’s almost as calm as a lake (as you can see in the photo).

    Yes,I can imagine!
    I love sunsets!
I wish I could come and join you,and see if I could see the dolphins too!

I know! The dolphins will be going further south soon as winter approaches. France and Bekena were suppose to come visit us this month, but that’s been delayed for sometime later.

Oh,I’m sorry to hear…Both that the dolphins are going away, and that France and Bekena couldn’t come!
But the dolphins follow their rhythm…
And I guess this goes for your meeting with France and Bekena too….It will happen when it is supposed too!

I wish I could join them..Go visiting you I mean!
    Sometime in the future maybe?

  • 8 Tina // Oct 7, 2008 at 3:38 pm

awwww me too… but hey, we let things follow their rhythm…

  • 9 Mia // Oct 7, 2008 at 5:42 pm

    Yeah!
I can hear the beat of things rhythm…..I wanna dance to it!lol…

  • 10 Lynn // Oct 8, 2008 at 4:51 am

Well France can’t go anywhere right now because of her dog who’s not in good health and Bekena decided to go check on her 2nd home that she hadn’t been to in six months. Like you said, it would also be great to meet both of you and I’m sure we will when the rhythm is right.

  • 11 Mia // Oct 10, 2008 at 5:01 pm

My rhythm is out of sync for the moment…
Or should I say I’m out of sync?

But okay,I guess I have to learn when the rhythm tells me to dance and when it tells me not to!

Sorry France’s little dog are not in good health…
    Sending her my love!
Not so sorry for Bekena…hope her 2nd home are fine….
I wish I had some other place to go to right now…the weather is …So”wonderful” I can sit inside,in our comfy sofa, drink tea and read a good book or listen to good music…no can’t do that the CD player don’t work…
But this is going on for over 4 month….this darkness!and the cold, wet, windy weather!

    Oh,well,it could be worse!
Could be raining cats and dogs!

Will go join Ulf….Giving him a kiss for the wonderful Roses!

I love it when it’s cold outside and like you said, you put on some nice soothing music, sit in a comfortable easy chair and curl up to read a good book. Patrick will light the fireplace and we’ll sip a vin chaud (hot wine) while watching the snow fall on the trees outside ….

The only problem is it’s still relatively warm outside 76°F (24°C) so we don’t even need to put on a sweater, much less the fireplace! Lol.

  • 13 Mia // Oct 10, 2008 at 6:03 pm

Why do I not feel sorry for you?Lol…
And yes,I like those things too….Can I come and join you and sip vin chaud!Sounds good!

    Tea is waiting!

It’ll probably be another month and a half before it’s cold enough here to appreciate a vin chaud, but I’m sure it’s getting cold enough in Sweden to have one! It’s really easy to make.

    VIN CHAUD

    Ingrediants:

1 bottle of red wine (750 ml) (some like dry, others prefer a fruity red wine)
1/2 cup of raw brown sugar (100 g) (more or less to your taste)
1 stick of cinnamon (or 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon)
    1 tsp. of nutmeg
    Whole clove
Zest of a lemon or an orange (some like both)
    1 lemon
    Sticks of cinnamon

    Preparations:

Heat the wine, sugar and spices in a pot over a medium/low flame. Stir occasionally until it simmers (do not boil) and a foam forms. Add the zest but not too much or else it gets a bitter taste. Pour the wine into glasses while hot (or depending on preference, through a strainer). Serve with a slice of lemon in each glass or a stick of cinnamon.

Enjoy! I’ll join you in a glass later…..
