I was talking to a friend of mine, Monique, who called me a few days ago and told me that it was snowing in Paris and then the next day another friend called and told me the same thing! They both asked me, “Are you planning on coming back to Paris soon?”
“Ahh…, no-o, I don’t think so, thank you very much!” I replied, as I sat out on my balcony looking at the water and sipping a frozen Margarita. Then I received an e-mail from Jean-Pierre who said he was leaving Paris to escape to the south of France in search of warmer weather!
Later that evening, I was on the phone with my mom and she said, “Oh I went out today to have some blood tests done at the hospital and it was such a nice warm day I decided to walk.”
“Walk!” I exclaimed. “Wasn’t it too cold to walk?”
“No,” my Mom said matter of factly, “the sun was shining and it was 30°!” (-1°C)
Maya Muses: I told all of them they should come visit Patrick and me. Until recently the temperature had been a balmy 70°- 75°F (20°- 24°C) but according to the weather reports, we’re suppose to be getting colder weather here as well. To quote the weatherman, “We’re expecting a cold spell soon and temperatures will be dipping down into the 50’s and low 60’s!” (Between 12°- 16°C.)! Lol.
Yes, we share this beautiful little Blue Planet, but the experience we have here is so vastly different for each one of us.
